Our Institute is located on the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of the Biomedical Building on the Yangming Campus, covering a total of approximately 3600 m2 of research and office space.
The Institute is equipped with well-rounded research instruments including density gradient fractionating systems, near-infrared fluorescence imaging systems, real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), ultraviolet-visible spectrometers, freeze dryers, ultrasonic oscillators, and fluorescence microscopes, which enable faculty and students to perform various biochemical, molecular and cell biological experiments. In addition, the university-managed Instrumentation Resource Center is on the seventh floor of the Biomedical Building. It provides high-speed centrifuges, real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), image scanning densitometers, luminescence/fluorescence imaging systems, seahorse XFe24 extracellular flux analyzers, and freeze dryers at our faculty and students’ disposal. Furthermore, the Instrumentation Resource Center is also equipped with comprehensive flow cytometry instruments (cell analyzers and cell sorters) and mass spectrometers (two-dimensional linear multiplex mass spectrometer, two-dimensional linear ion trap Fourier transform electric field system, ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry). The Center is staffed by professional technicians to assist with experimental operations and analysis.
The Institute also possesses exceptional advantages as far as environment’s concern. The Institute has a positive academic atmosphere; our faculty and students have extensive opportunities to engage, interact and collaborate with the neighboring Taipei Veterans General Hospital and the National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine.
